Director Michelle van Rensburg studied Drama and Sports Science at Rhodes University in Grahamstown South Africa, and then went on to do a three year Diploma in Performing Arts at Natal Technikon in Durban. From there, she moved to Cape Town where she worked as a professional actress while studying for her Teachers Associate with the Trinity College of London. Her debut in the theatre was at the well known Theatre on the Bay in Camps Bay, as Miss Wilkinson in "Move Over Mrs Markham" Other credits include Mademoiselle Lullaby in the Dream Circus, Regan in King Lear, numerous commercials, cabaret, voice over's, theatre sports and TV including M'ling in the Adventures of Sinbad, as well as children's theatre and TIE

Michelle first came to the UK to perform in her one woman play "Storm in a Tea-cup" in 1994, She then stayed in the UK and toured with her show in many UK universities including Oxford , Basingstoke and York , as well the Tristan Bates Theatre in London and the English speaking theatre company in Warsaw. Other UK credits include Ariel in "The Tempest" at the Kings Head theatre in London and many subsequent shows which she has written and performed and brought to the Edinburgh Festival.

Michelle also taught drama using LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Drama) at a private school in London before moving to Edinburgh two years ago, where she has been working as a private voice coach and co-writing with her husband and directing new work, including her newest character/storyteller Miss Googiepants, who will be appearing at the festival this year with Shakespeare the CAT.
